Willenhall Market
Helyn visits Willenhall where people are passionate about ensuring its future standing amongst the competing town centres in the Borough.
After her visit, Helyn said:
"I met Bob and his wife Helen who run a fruit and veg stall on the market in Willenhall town centre three days a week. Bob wants to see the town centre improving now that Morrisons have opened their store on the site of the old Yale factory. He has been working with Walsall Council’s portfolio holder Cllr Adrian Andrew who is responsible for regeneration in making sure that the improvements that the supermarket will bring to local residents will also bring benefits to the town.
"Better lighting, free four hour parking for market users, cleaner streets, and securing heritage funding for improving the shop fronts in the town. I went to visit Bob with Suky Samra the Conservative Candidate for Willenhall South in Walsall Council – Suky was amazed that the local councilors were not ensuring that the decisions made by the Consevative run administration were in place! Why would this be? We need to ensure that Conservative councilors not only run the strategic policy of the council but are in every ward to ensure delivery with no political agenda."
